It's a major test for Juan Martin Del Potro tonight, can he rise to the occasion and claim a 3rd title in a row or will Andy Roddick get his season back on track and get some added confidence going into the US Open
Roddick will be backed by several thousands of US fans desperate to see an American winner of the Countryside Classic for the first time since Andre Agassi in 2005. Del Potro is unlikely to be fazed by his opponent though, when up against Richard Gasquet in the Stuttgart final he rose to the occasion and secured a superb 6-4, 7-5 win.
Both men were quick to big up their opponent after yesterday's semis, “It will be a tough match against Andy because his serve is very fast and he moves very good. When you have a very good serve, the points are short,” said Del Potro
Roddick was wary of the confidence the Argentine will have after such a winning streak but was happy to discuss his final tactics with the press “He's full of confidence, that's for
sure,” the top seed said, “I think the biggest thing is for me to try and take his time away a little bit. I'm going to have to put pressure on him in the corners,” Roddick said. “He's big, but he doesn't have a huge serve. . . . He's a little awkward.”
Prediction: Roddick to claim the spoils in Tinsletown with a 3 set win
