Andy Murray bids to win his first major title in Cincinnati tonight against probably the best player in the world on hard courts right now, Novak Djokovic
Djokovic was the man making all the headlines at the start of the year, storming to the Australian Open and Indian Wells titles but since then he's been eclipsed by the brilliance of Rafa Nadal. The Spaniard had been hoping to celebrate his new crowning as world no 1 in style with back-to-back masters series crowns, no man has ever done the Toronto-Cincinnati double, but Djokovic spoiled the party last night with an emphatic 6-1, 7-5 triumph
It's fair to say that the Serb had “owned” Andy Murray in their first 4 matches. After grinding out a tight 3 setter in Madrid 2006, the next 3 were anything but close - 6-2, 6-3 in Indian Wells, 6-1, 6-0 in Miami and 6-0, 6-3 in Monte Carlo. Murray was being comprehensively overpowered but that all changed in Toronto last week. The Scot played a tremendous tactical match in their quarter-final while Djokovic appeared strangely subdued and tentative, not going after shots with the usual freedom and went down 6-3, 7-6.
That defeat definately hurt and it took him until the Nadal match to really hit his stride this week. With that confidence he'll be determined to prove whose the daddy on the cement in this final
Murray is now guaranteed to rise to 6 in the world whatever happens tonight, speaking ahead of the final he said “I don't think there's a huge difference between a semi-final and a final, but to win it would be huge. I'm going to have to play against one of the best players in the world to win it. I feel like I'm playing well enough to do it.”

Konovic, if I want to be a comedian, I'll be a comedian - give it as an advice-giver, you're too poor at it. The smiley face is there for people to take it as a joke - if you can't handle, that's your problem. If you think it's got to do with jealousy, you got a lot to learn. Anyway, Nole lost, so get over it!

By the way, I want to add that if any OTHER Nole fan was offended by my joke - and that was all it was, a joke - then I do apologise. It was definitely not meant to offend any Nole fan. Aside from some of Nole's recent comments, there's obviously a reason he's no. 3 in the world! A great tennis player and I like his fighting spirit. I just happen to be a bigger fan of other players.

Did you know that... Thomas Johansson did not have to face any of the top-10 players when he won the Australian Open in 2002.
