After taking down Ancic in stunning fashion in the quarters Ferrer is now easily the favourite for this title which would be the first grass crown of his career ! At no 5 in the rankings he's the highest of the 4 players left by some distance
Del Potro's in only his second ever ATP semi-final after an impressive recovery over Clement in the quarters. He played Ferrer in the Aussie Open earlier this year but the injury-prone Argentine will be hoping for a better outcome on Friday having retired in that match at 6-3, 6-4, 0-0 down.
Ferrer has looked on form all week and he's recovered well after an indifferent spell of tournaments after the Aussie Open. His clay-court season form (he won Valencia, made the Barcelona final and the French Open quarters) quelled thoughts that 2007 may have been a one-season wonder for him. Of those results on the clay, that defeat to Monfils in the Roland Garros quarters is the one which will rankle the most. Although Monfils undoubtedly played a great match, Ferrer will rarely get a better chance to make the semis in Paris
Del Potro's not played that many events this year mainly due to injuries. Its something of a minor success when the Argentine actually gets to step onto court fully fit. The above mentioned retirement against Ferrer in Melbourne kept him out for two months and he suffered a back injury against Andy Murray during their match in Rome
Prediction: Ferrer in 2
