This match is a grudge match from last year's Halle event, where Kohli was able to easily knock out Blake here in the quarterfinals.
Blake will be looking for revenge while Kohlschreiber is looking to make his second final of the year.
Kohli has looked fantastic all week, scalping Haas and Soderling, two very good grass court players, en route. Blake has looked less impressive, struggling past Beck and looking unimpressive thus far.
Kohlschreiber plays a smart game for the grass. A solid serve, nothing enormous, but enough to get the job done. Solid off both wings and tactically smart enough to be able to work the point. He also is competent at net where he can finish off the points with a solid volley. Or he can serve and volley straight if he so pleases.
Blake is a bit different. He goes for everything on every ball, especially the forehand. If he is feeling good off that wing, Kohlschreiber will be in for a long day of yellow whizzing by him. Blake's volleys are suspect, his serve is also solid, but his backhand can break down. Kohlschreiber's smart play would be constant backhand pressure to Blake as he will definitely break down at some point.
Kohlschreiber for the win, but anything can happen.
