    (2) Andy Murray def. (20) Mikhail Youzhny 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1

Second seed Andy Murray made the quarterfinal after taking out former World No. 8 Mikhail Youzhny, 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1. The 26-year-old Scot tallied 15 aces and 45 winners through two hours and 37 minutes of play.

"It was really good atmosphere," Youzhny commented. "The crowd was really polite, really good. I didn't feel any pressure from the crowd. It was close first two sets. But Andy served better than me- that's why he won. He didn't give me any presents."

Murray moves on to face Spain's Fernando Verdasco for a place in the semifinal.

Fernando Verdasco def. Kenny De Schepper 6-4, 6-4, 6-4

Fernando Verdasco is through to the final eight following his straight-sets ousting of France's Kenny De Schepper. The veteran converted four of 14 break points during the 109-minute match.

"I felt pretty good in general," Verdasco assessed. "Of course, it was a little windy and sometimes some games were not that easy. But I think I played a good match. I felt good on the court and happy to (have) won and be in quarterfinals for first time."

Verdasco completed the effort with 9 aces and 42 winners.

Have to admit the last match was not Andy's finest hour. I haven't seen any of Verdi's matches but he is clearly back on track after a pretty dismal couple of years. Hope for Andy's sake he doesn't run him ragged by replicating the '09 SF at the AO :-((

As good as his comeback, if you can call it that, has been so far, I don't have a lot of hope for Verdi's chances here. I would hope that he's partly solved his 'attitude problems'. If he worked half as hard as Nadal does, Verdasco would have much more silver on his mantlepiece.
I expect Andy to win in straight sets here.
