Murray moves into round two World No. 2 Andy Murray advanced to the second round with a straight-sets dismissal of German veteran Benjamin Becker. The Scot is through to take on Yen-Hsun Lu in the next round.

World No. 2 Andy Murray made a strong start to his Wimbledon campaign, having ousted Germany's Benjamin Becker in straight sets. The 26-year-old Scot converted five of 10 break points en route to a 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 victory.

"I thought it was a good match and it was a good start for me," Murray confessed. "He played some solid tennis, especially the first two sets, and then the third set I started to play better.

"It was a tough start for me, he is a very good grass player. I was ready, and to win in three sets was a good start. There's always nerves at the start of a Grand Slam and I'm glad to get it out of the way, and hopefully I can improve as it goes on."

Murray completed the opening-round success with 11 aces and 38 winners. He is through to take on Chinese Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu in round two.
