    6/24/13 10:07 PM | Kelli DeMario
Ferrer leads tricky quarter at Wimbledon World No. 4 David Ferrer makes his return to competition, as grass-court action continues at the Wimbledon Championships. The recent French Open finalist is set to enter the draw as the fourth seed.

World No. 4 David Ferrer looks to rebound after losing a first-round match at the Topshelf Open. The 31-year-old Spaniard was unable to defend his 2012 title, having fallen to fellow veteran Xavier Malisse in straight sets.

Ferrer will be making his eleventh appearance at the All England Club, where he finished among the final eight in 2012.

Ferrer tops a tricky quarter of the draw that includes: (8) Juan-Martin del Potro, (12) Kei Nishikori, (16) Philipp Kohlschreiber, (17) Milos Raonic, (23) Andreas Seppi, (26) Alexandr Dolgopolov and (29) Grigor Dimitrov.

Additional players in the same section are Roberto Bautista Agut, Teymuraz Gabashvili, Horacio Zeballos, Santiago Giraldo, Carlos Berlocq, Igor Sijsling, Ivan Dodig, Matthew Ebden, Michael Llodra, Jarkko Nieminen, Denis Istomin, Michael Russell, Jesse Levine, Simone Bolelli and Albert Ramos.

The nearest seed to Ferrer is (26) Dolgopolov, who presents as a likely third-round opponent. Should the veteran move successfully through the draw, he could face (17) Raonic in the round of 16 and (8) Del Potro in the quarterfinal.

Should the Spaniard advanced to the final stages of the Grand Slam, he may take on World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the semifinal and either World No. 2 Andy Murray or seven-time champion Roger Federer for the title.

Ferrer is set to begin his campaign against Argentina’s Martin Alund.
