Youzhny upsets Gasquet for final berth in Halle Mikhail Youzhny continued to impress at the Gerry Weber Open, dispatching No. 2 seed Richard Gasquet to set up a final showdown with Roger Federer.

Russian Mikhail Youzhny had his best win of his excellent week with a 6-3, 6-2 win over France's Richard Gasquet.

Youzhny already had a great week coming into Saturday's match. He had wins over No. 4 seed Kei Nishikori and No. 6 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber to earn his spot in the semifinals. And with his win over Gasquet, he earns a spot in Sunday's final opposite Roger Federer.

Gasquet never really had much of chance at the win. Youzhny only faced 2 break points in the match, both of which he fought off. The Russian was more aggressive and hit his spots far better than Gasquet. The Frenchman in particular had difficulty holding onto his serve.

Youzhny managed to secure 3 breaks of serve, and with Gasquet unable to make a dent in the Russian's service games, he was quickly sent packing.
