    London- Murray, Tsonga reach third round Top seed Andy Murray is through to the third round at the AEGON Championships after taking out France's Nicolas Mahut. The Scot is joined by fellow seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who defeated compatriot Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

    (1) Andy Murray def. Nicolas Mahut 6-3, 7-6(4)

    World No. 2 Andy Murray made a successful start to the tournament with a straight-sets ousting of France's Nicolas Mahut. The 26-year-old Scot held 10 consecutive service games through an hour and 42 minutes of play. Murray is set to return later in the day to face Australia's Marinko Matosevic.

    "He's a talented player, a good ball striker," Murray explained. "He'll make it tricky for me."

    Matosevic advanced to the third round after veteran Michael Llodra withdrew from competition.

    (4) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga def. Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3

    Fourth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is through to the round of 16 after holding off fellow Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin in three sets. The 28-year-old tallied 11 aces through an hour and 50 minutes of play. Tsonga completed the effort with 53 of 64 first-service points captured.

    He is scheduled to play a third-round match against Dutchman Igor Sijsling late Thursday.
