Stan leaves Paris with good feeling about his game Despite taking a hammering from Rafael Nadal to exit the French Open quarters, Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka heads home pleased with one of his best career clay court seasons.

After a few days of rest in Lausanne, it starts all over the top 10 player as he steps onto Dutch grass in 10 days for an ATP tune-up event before playing at Wimbledon.

"I'm very happy with my tournament," said Wawrinka, who went out in the same last-eight round as compatriot Roger Federer. "There were a lot of positive things: it's the first time I've reached quarter-finals at Roland.

"I shouldn't forget that before the tournament I had many uncertainties (adductor injury). I didn't have the right preparation, it was complicated for me. I was not even certain I could play."

In his fourth-round match, Wawrinka came from two sets to love down to stun Richard Gasquet in front of the Frenchman's home crowd, a match Nadal rated as the best of the tournament so far.

"It was an excellent tournament for me, I should seize these opportunities," said Madrid clay finalist Wawrinka. "It was an excellent clay season for me. I'm still in the top 10 now. This all really shows I'm on the right track. I've got to continue like this, tread the same path and increase my game level, improve day in, day out. And to do this on each and every match."
