• Montanes, Simon lead the field in Nice

Montanes, Simon lead the field in Nice With a week to go before the French Open, most of the top players are taking a break after back-to-back Masters events. But Albert Montanes, Gilles Simon and John Isner are all in action.

Nice holds a difficult spot on the ATP tour calendar, positioned directly before the French Open. But there are still a few names that can draw a crowd, with Frenchman Gilles Simon. American John Isner, who is surely trying to get in a few more matches before his attempt at Roland Garros, will also be in action this week.

The draw is badly imbalanced, with most of the in-form players falling in the bottom half of the draw. No. 2 seed Simon heads it up, but he'll have to navigate the likes of Fabio Fognini and Andreas Seppi to get to the final.

The top half is headed up by No. 1 seed Albert Montanes and Albert Ramos, who is in good form at the moment.

The winner is likely to come from the bottom section, with one of the Italians or more likely Simon coming through with a victory.
