Paire beats Granollers, reaches semifinal World No. 36 Benoit Paire is through to the final four at the Masters 1000 Rome, having crushed Spain's Marcel Granollers in straight sets. The Frenchman moves on to face Roger Federer or Jerzy Janowicz in the next round.

France's Benoit Paire continued his dream run in Rome with a quarterfinal victory over Spain's Marcel Granollers. The 24-year-old needed less than an hour to win the match, 6-1, 6-0.

"I felt good on the court," Paire commented. "After I started with a couple of faults, I felt good on court and it was a perfect match. I am making the progress we want with my coach. When you see the match with Del Potro – it was the best match. And against Granollers, the same."

Paire completed the quarterfinal effort with five of 11 break points converted.

He will take on either world No. 3 Roger Federer or Jerzy Janowicz for a place in the championship final.
