    5/12/13 8:01 PM | Kelli DeMario
Murray continues clay-court run in Rome World No. 2 Andy Murray is back on court for the third week of May, as the ATP World Tour makes a stop in Rome, Italy for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. The Scot enters the Masters 1000 tournament as the third seed.

World No. 2 Andy Murray makes his return to competition after advancing to the quarterfinal at the Masters 1000 Madrid. The 25-year-old recorded consecutive victories before falling to the Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych in straight sets.

"Tomas is a very good clay court player and it was a close match - I had my chances," Murray explained after the defeat.

Murray tops a competitive quarter of the draw that includes (7) Juan Martin Del Potro, (12) Nicolas Almagro and (16) Kei Nishikori. Additional players in the same section are Xavier Malisse, Benoit Paire, Juan Monaco, Paolo Lorenzi, Feliciano Lopez, Julien Benneteau and Jeremy Chardy.

"I think I'm playing okay. Some things I would like to do better, but I did play very well in practice in the build-up to this tournament," Murray said. "I played a lot of sets with a lot of tough players and I played very well."

After a first-round bye, Murray is slated to begin his run against Spain's Marcel Granollers, who ousted former world No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko in his opener.
