    Berdych advances to round of 16 World No. 6 Tomas Berdych is through to the third round at the Mutua Madrid Open, having rallied to upend Poland's Jerzy Janowicz. The Czech moves on to face either Argentina's Juan Monaco or South Africa's Kevin Anderson.

    Sixth seed Tomas Berdych recorded his 400th career win with a come-from-behind victory over Poland's Jerzy Janowicz. The 27-year-old Czech tallied 10 aces and five service breaks en route to a 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-2 success.

    Berdych completed the two-hour, 16-minute match with eight of nine break points saved.

    He is through to take on either Juan Monaco or Kevin Anderson for a place in the quarterfinals.
