• Fognini run comes to screeching halt at hands of Djokovic

Fognini run comes to screeching halt at hands of Djokovic Fabio Fognini's spectacular week at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters came to an abrupt halt, with world No. 1 Novak Djokovic rolling over the Italian.

None of Fabio Fognini's fire from earlier in the week was on display in his semifinal against Novak Djokovic. The Serb dismantled the out-matched Fognini 6-2, 6-1 for a spot in Sunday's final opposite Rafael Nadal.

Though Djokovic was competent and without trouble from his ailing ankle, Fognini barely put a struggle. The Italian's lackluster performance barely forced Djokovic out of second gear as the Serb rolled to a 51-minute victory.

The win sets up a tantalizing final, as Djokovic will face Rafael Nadal for the first time since his loss in the finals of the French Open last year. The final is a re-match of last year's lop-sided final between the two, which Nadal won 6-3, 6-1.
