    Berdych crushes Querrey, Simon survives World No. 6 Tomas Berdych advanced to the final eight after defeating World No. 20 Sam Querrey in straight sets. The Czech is joined by fellow seed Gilles Simon, who rallied to oust World No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic.

    Fourth seed Tomas Berdych is through to the quarterfinal after ousting 17th seed Sam Querrey in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. The 27-year-old Czech converted five of 8 break points through 52 minutes of play. Querrey completed the match with just 39% of his first serves made.

    Berdych is slated to take on 8th seed Richard Gasquet in the next round. The Frenchman rallied to defeat 10th seed Nicolas Almagro in three sets, 6-7(3), 7-5, 7-6(3).

    (11) Gilles Simon def. (7) Janko Tipsarevic 5-7, 6-2, 6-2

    Eleventh seed Gilles Simon advanced to the final eight following his three-sets victory over 7th seed Janko Tipsarevic. The 28-year-old Frenchman converted six of 12 break points through two hours and 30 minutes of play. After leveling the match at a set apiece, Simon broke to 3-2 and 5-2 in the final set.

    He will face either World No. 1 Novak Djokovic or 15th seed Tommy Haas in the quarterfinal.
