Tournament seed Gilles Simon advanced to the third round in Miami following his straight-sets win over former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt. The Frenchman is joined by fellow seed Alexandr Dolgpolov, who beat Nikolay Davydenko.

Eleventh seed Gilles Simon is through to the third round by virtue of his straight-sets victory over former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt. The Frenchman converted five of 11 break points en route to a 6-3, 6-3 win in an hour and 17 minutes. Simon completed the match with 20 of 25 first-service points captured.
He is slated to meet Grega Zemlja in the next round.
(19) Alexandr Dolgopolov def. Nikolay Davydenko 6-2, 6-3
Nineteenth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov made a successful start to the tournament, having ousted former World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets. The 24-year-old Ukrainian converted five of 8 break points through 61 minutes of play. Davydenko struggled with his second serve, winning just 9 of 24 points.
Dolgopolov is scheduled to take on 15th seed Tommy Haas for a place in the round of 16.
