World No. 3 Andy Murray is through to the round of 16 at the BNP Paribas Open after downing veteran Yen-Hsun Lu in straight sets. The third seed moves on to face Argentina's Carlos Berlocq for a place in the quarterfinal.
World No. 3 Andy Murray advanced to the fourth round at the Masters 1000 Indian Wells, having ousted Chinese Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu late Tuesday. The 25-year-old Scot, through to his first round of 16 since 2010, came through the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
"He started off well," Murray commented. "I didn't serve particularly well to get myself into those situations, and then I served well to get myself out of some tough situations... He can kind of leave you flat footed sometimes, and he certainly did that a lot in the first set."
Murray broke serve at 2-2 in the opening set, then followed with a service break at 3-2 in the second. He completed the match with four of 6 break points converted through 89 minutes.
He will take on veteran Carlos Berlocq in the next round. The Argentine upset 16th seed Kei Nishikori in the third round, 6-2, 6-2.
