Djokovic aiming for third BNP Paribas Open title The story of Indian Wells this year may be the hard-court return of Rafael Nadal, but Novak Djokovic leads the way as the No. 1 seed. Djokovic is a two-time champion in the desert.

Novak Djokovic will be bidding for his third title at the BNP Paribas Open as he headlines this year's field as the No. 1 seed. Djokovic is in a section of the draw that also includes Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Marin Cilic, and Milos Raonic.

The top-ranked Serb could not have asked for a better draw. His nearest seed is Grigor Dimitrov and potential fourth-round opponents for Djokovic are seeds Juan Monaco and Sam Querrey, neither of whom is in good form (especially not Monaco). Up first for Djokovic on Sunday is Fabio Fognini, who has enjoyed some success on hard courts but generally does his best work on the slow stuff.

Tsonga, Cilic, and Raonic are in much more formidable half of this quarter. Cilic and Raonic could face each other as early as the third round, while the winner of that potential matchup would likely get Tsonga in round four. Tsonga will open against James Blake on Sunday, while both Cilic and Raonic should cruise through their second-rounders.

This section also features the return of Mardy Fish, who has not played since the U.S. Open due to health concerns. Fish will kick off his comeback against fellow American Bobby Reynolds, who scored a big three-set victory over Benjamin Becker.
