Tomic cruises into Indian Wells second round Bernard Tomic rolls over Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets on Thursday in Indian Wells. Tomic will go up against Richard Gasquet for a spot in the third round.

Bernard Tomic took care of Thomaz Bellucci 6-4, 6-3 in the first round of the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday afternoon. Tomic did not drop serve a single time as he advanced in one hour and eight minutes.

Bellucci, who is 3-7 this year after losing his third straight first-round match, stayed competitive until the end of the first set. At 4-5, however, the Brazilian cracked on serve and he never recovered after failing to stay in the opener.

One break also decided the second, but Tomic became far more dominant. The 20-year-old Aussie surrendered a mere three points in his last five service games after being required to saved two break points in set one. Tomic pocketed one more break in the second before serving things out with ease at 5-3.

The world No. 45 will meet Richard Gasquet on Saturday.
