Nishikori cruises into Memphis final Kei Nishikori wins the first set then gets a retirement from Marinko Matosevic on Saturday in Memphis. Nishikori will face Feliciano Lopez for the title.

Kei Nishikori advanced to the final of the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships on Saturday when Marinko Matosevic retired due to a bone bruise on his right foot. Nishikori had won the first set 6-4 when Matosevic called it quits after just 37 minutes of action.

"He was playing well from the beginning," the world No. 22 said of his opponent. "It's lucky for me to play just one set and feel fresh for tomorrow. But I've played really well this week in every match and it's been good."

Nishikori will battle Feliciano Lopez for the title on Sunday. Lopez held off Denis Istomin 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
