David Ferrer made quick work of fellow seed Fabio Fognini with a straight-sets defeat of the Italian Friday afternoon. The defending champion is joined in the final four by compatriot Tommy Robredo, who beat qualifier Julian Reister.

Top seed David Ferrer is through to the final four after ousting 6th seed Fabio Fognini in straight sets. The World No. 4 held eight of 8 service games en route to a 6-2, 6-1 victory in an hour and 16 minutes. The Italian, who drops to 0-4 against the Spaniard, ended the match with just 23 of 50 first-service points captured.
Ferrer will take on fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo for a place in the championship final.

Former World No. 5 Tommy Robredo reached the semifinal with a straight-sets upending of Germany's Julian Reister Friday afternoon. The veteran tallied 7 aces and five service breaks through an hour and 33 minutes of play. Robredo is through to his first Tour-level semifinal since February 2011, when he made the final four at the Copa Claro.
