Tournament seed Stanislas Wawrinka made a successful start to the tournament, having upended Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi in under an hour. The Swiss is joined in round two by Albert Montanes, who ousted 7th seed Pablo Andujar.

Third seed Stanislas Wawrinka is through to the second round after taking out veteran Paolo Lorenzi in less than one hour. The Swiss saved five of five break points en route to a 6-3, 6-3 victory in 59 minutes. Wawrinka ended the evening with 31 of 38 first-service points captured.
He is slated to take on Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver for a place in the quarterfinals.
Albert Montanes def. (7) Pablo Andujar 5-7, 6-2, 6-4
Veteran Albert Montanes made the second round following his come-from-behind win over 7th-seeded compatriot Pablo Andujar. The 32-year-old Spaniard, who improved to 4-2 on clay this season, converted six of 15 break points through two hours and 12 minutes.
He will face wildcard Federico Delbonis in the next round.
