Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria put in an excellent performance in his second-round match to take out Russia's Nikolay Davydenko.
Young 21 year-old Grigor Dimitrov was in fine form on Wednesday, defeating former top 4 player Nikolay Davydenko 7-5, 6-3. Dimitrov, once given the moniker "Baby Federer," is now finally starting to grow into his heavily-touted potential. He is ranked 41st in the world.
Dimitrov is capable of hitting big off the ground, but he tends to be erratic with his groundstrokes, often donating too many unforced errors to win on a regular basis. Wednesday's match though was a good example of controlled aggression from the Bulgarian.
Dimitrov awaits the winner of Richard Gasquet and Marcos Baghdatis in the quarterfinals.
