• Federer heads up top half in Rotterdam

    2/11/13 2:28 AM | Cheryl Murray
Federer heads up top half in Rotterdam Defending champion Roger Federer will lead the field as the first indoor season of 2013 gets underway in Rotterdam.

Roger Federer's half of the draw in Rotterdam this week includes the tough Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who took Federer to five sets a couple of weeks ago in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

The other seeds in Federer's half are Tsonga's countryman Gilles Simon and the up-and-coming Pole Jerzy Janowicz. But the unseeded players could also pose a threat. Julien Benneteau, the player who came close to knocking Federer out of Wimbledon last year, sits in Federer's quarter, and Mikhail Youzhny is a possible second-round opponent.

Tsonga and Federer should come through to the semifinals, but Rotterdam could offer some entertaining matches along the way.

LOL Jerzy lost 1st round..

tj600 , 2/11/13 3:10 PM

Poor Jerzy is doomed for having dared to criticize Fed!

holdserve , 2/11/13 3:26 PM

How Jerzy loss has anything to do with criticising Fed?
#hold'THE DELUSIONAL'serve

abhirf , 2/11/13 4:12 PM

abhirf, doesn't matter if you don't understand. Even Rafa constantly praises Fed and after the one time he criticized ATP's idol, the time violation rule has suddenly become important. There are many ways for the BIG Brother to ensure suppression of dissent.

holdserve , 2/11/13 4:37 PM

What did Jerzy say to Fed btw as a criticism? Sorry I never heard this one

sanju , 2/11/13 6:21 PM

Jerzy informed Fed about one delusional "holdserve" on tt . Holdserve is one stupid moron who thinks that fed controls everything in men's tennis.

fedexal , 2/11/13 7:51 PM

Looking at Fed's rotterdam it appeared he had a pretty tough path, but with JJ and Tsonga out, things have turned around nicely for Fed.

scoretracker , 2/12/13 2:56 AM

correction, Rotterdam draw.

scoretracker , 2/12/13 2:57 AM

No you were onto something. It is Fed's Rotterdam..........title to win that is.
