• Del Potro leads the Rotterdam bottom half

    2/11/13 2:41 AM | Cheryl Murray
Del Potro leads the Rotterdam bottom half Juan Martin Del Potro, last year's finalist, is back in Rotterdam in 2013 as the No. 2 seed and looking for a re-match against champion Roger Federer, who nabbed the top seed.

Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro is the seed with the toughest first round opponent. The Argentine drew wild card Gael Monfils, a former top 10 on the comeback trail from injury. Monfils has already had a semifinal showing this year in Auckland, but Del Potro plays well enough indoors that he should be able to handle the world No. 108.

Del Potro's other top seed is Richard Gasquet, the 2013 Montpellier and Doha title holder. Gasquet has played outstanding tennis this year, with tour high 2 tournament wins and an impressive 15-1 record. Still, the Frenchman will likely be fighting fatigue from his efforts last week in Montpellier.

The Argentine's half of the draw, with Andreas Seppi and Florian Mayer rounding out the seeds, is more favorable than Federer's. Expect the Argentine to find his way through to the final.
