Richard Gasquet added to his impressive 2013 record with a win over Julien Benneteau to earn a spot in the Montpellier semifinals.
Richard Gasquet was mostly dominant in his quarterfinal against countryman Julien Benneteau to seal a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 victory.
Gasquet breezed through the first set, holding Benneteau to a single game and to take the early lead. Benneteau found his way back in the second, taking advantage of a lapse in concentration from Gasquet to level the match at a set apiece.
Gasquet kept his head going into the third set. Benneteau was once again out-hit as he struggled to find his form from the back of the court.
Gasquet will take on Finland's Jarkko Nieminen in the semifinals on Saturday.
