Veteran Ivo Karlovic made a successful start at the tournament on Tuesday, having scored a straight-set win over 7th seed Grigor Dimitrov. He is joined in round two by 5th seed Martin Klizan, who rallied to beat Matteo Viola in three.

Fifth seed Martin Klizan won his first match of the season after rallying to defeat lucky loser Matteo viola. The Slovakian tallied eight aces and six service breaks during the two-hour, 30-minute match. Klizan completed the effort with nine of 10 break points saved in the decider.
He moves on to face either Robin Haase or wildcard Antonio Veic for a place in the quarterfinal.

Former world No. 14 Ivo Karlovic is through to the second round by virtue of his straight-sets ousting of 7th seed Grigor Dimitrov. The veteran collected 18 aces en route to a 7-6(3), 7-6(3) victory in 91 minutes. Karlovic, who claimed his first Tour-level win of the season, held 12 consecutive service games without facing a break point.
He is scheduled to take on either compatriot Ivan Dodig or Benjamin Becker in the next round.
