Andreas Seppi, Italy's most consistent and highest ranked player, will look to repeat the success he's already had against Ivan Dodig as the two men clash in the second of Friday's rubbers.
Andreas Seppi will be playing at home on his favored surface against a player he has never lost to. Ivan Dodig will have a tough task on his hands if he hopes to give the Croats a win. Seppi blitzed Dodig the only other time they met on clay, a straight set victory for the Italian last year in the now-defunct Belgrade tournament.
Dodig actually had a good showing a couple of weeks ago at the Australian Open. The Croat advanced to the third round, where he lost to Richard Gasquet. The win still gave him a 2-2 record on the season.
Seppi will have the distinct edge in this encounter. The Italian is plenty familiar with Dodig's game and had his own impressive showing in Melbourne to start out the season. He lost to Jeremy Chardy in the fourth round, but not before dispatching of upcoming opponent Marin Cilic in the third round.
Prediction - Seppi for the win in straight sets.
