    Ferrer beats Baghdatis, Nishikori next Fourth seed David Ferrer is through to the round of 16 following his straight-sets ousting of 2006 finalist Marcos Baghdatis. The Spaniard will next face fellow seed Kei Nishikori, who took out Russia's Evgeny Donskoy in three sets.

    World No. 5 David Ferrer advanced to the fourth round after beating former world No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis in straight sets. The 30-year-old converted six of 9 break points through 117 minutes of play.

    "Tonight, it was my best match of this week," said Ferrer. "I'm very happy to win in three sets against Marcos. It is difficult."

    The fourth seed completed the third-round match with five aces and 25 winners.

    He is slated to face Japan's Kei Nishikori in the next round. Nishikori defeated Russia's Evgeny Donskoy in round three, 7-6(3), 6-2, 6-3.

    "I think I played well in important games," said the 16th seed. "It wasn't easy to play today with the wind. (In) the last couple games, I played really well and (was) more confident in my play. So I think I'm in good shape."
