    Ferrer, Baghdatis advance Fourth seed David Ferrer is through to the third round after taking out lucky loser Tim Smyczek in four sets. The Spaniard is joined by 8th seed Janko Tipsarevic, who held on to defeat Slovakia's Lukas Lacko in five sets.

    World No. 5 David Ferrer made the round of 32 following a four-set dismissal of American Tim Smyczek. The 30-year-old veteran converted seven of 21 break points through two hours and 38 minutes of play. Ferrer ended the day with a trio of aces and 21 winners.

    He moves on to face former world No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis, who downed Japan's Tatsuma Ito in the second round, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

    (8) Janko Tipsarevic def. Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 7-5

    Eighth seed Janko Tipsarevic is through to the third round after holding on to upend Slovakia's Lukas Lacko. The 28-year-old surrendered a two-sets-to-love edge before leading 5-2 in the decider. Lacko leveled to 5-5, but was broken in game 12. Tipsarevic completed the extended match with 15 aces and 48 winners.

    He will take on 32nd seed Julien Benneteau for a place in the round of 16. The veteran Frenchman ousted compatriot Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the second round, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(5), 7-6(5).
