    Brisbane - Murray through, Dimitrov beats Baghdatis Defending champion Andy Murray passed into the final match of the tournament after 5th seed Kei Nishikori retired. The world No. 3 is next to face Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov, who outlasted former world No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis.

    Grigor Dimitrov made his first tour-level final after holding on to defeat former World No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis. The 21-year-old Bulgarian tallied a dozen aces through two hours and 29 minutes of play.

    “The third set was just matter of who was going to take the first opportunity, the first chance,” commented the World No. 48.

    “I was down break point and stuff, but I tried to come back into the set. So that helped me also to look further ahead. And then when it was a tie-break, it was just a matter of a point… I have to say I'm very, very happy. It’s definitely it's a great feeling.”

    Dimitrov completed the semifinal effort with 79% of his first-service points captured.

    Defending champion Andy Murray is through to the final after opponent Kei Nishikori retired with a left-knee injury. The 25-year-old Scot had converted three of five break points through 45 minutes.
