Berdych, Cilic go down in Chennai Three of the top four seeds fell in the quartefinals of the Aircel Chennai Open, including No. 1 Tomas Berdych and No. 4 Stanislas Wawrinka.

It was a dismal day for the top players in Chennai. Only No. 2 seed Janko Tipsarevic found his way to the semifinals, with Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic and Stanislas Wawrinka all upset.

Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut defeated Berdych 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, with the Czech giving up a break in both the first and third sets to give Bautista Agut the upset win of his career.

Joining Bautista Agut with surprise wins are Benoit Paire, the Frenchman who upended Marin Cilic 6-4, 1-6, 7-5, and Aljaz Bedene--who took out Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2, 7-6(6) in surprising straight sets.

Tipsarevic will now go into the final weekend as the favorite for the title, as he dispatched Go Soeda 6-2, 6-4.
