• Querrey makes epic comeback, takes out sick Djokovic

Querrey makes epic comeback, takes out sick Djokovic Sam Querrey rallied from a deep hole to get the win over tournament No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic, who has been battling illness this week.

For the first set and part of the second, this match looked as though it would result in an easy Djokovic win. The Serb, who has alluded to suffering stomach illness prior to opener against Querrey, came out in devastating form. But in the end, it was Querrey who walked away with the 0-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 win.

Djokovic lost 10 points in the entire first set, as Querrey found himself at the receiving end of Djokovic's deadly groundstrokes. The world No. 2 continued to cut a wide path through Querrey's game into the second set. Djokovic went up 2-0 with another break of the Querrey serve.

But the American began to forge his comeback. He started to play clutch on big points, first getting the break back at 2-1 to level the set and again in the eighth game, where he staved off break points to hold serve. And most importantly, Querrey was tough in the tiebreaker, coming out of nowhere to level the match at a set apiece.

Djokovic had opportunities in the third set, 5 in all, but Querrey demonstrated enough presence of mind to battle his way through. The underdog proved far more opportunistic than his opponent, converting on one of two chances that he earned in the decider.

Querrey awaits the winner of Jeremy Chardy and Milos Raonic in the third round.
