Ninth seed Juan Monaco made the round of 16 in Paris after defeating Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets. The Argentine is joined in round three by 11th seed Nicolas Almagro, who held on to beat compatriot Albert Ramos.

World No. 10 Juan Monaco is through to the round of 16 following his straight-sets upending of Bulgarian qualifier Grigor Dimitrov. The 28-year-old Argentine held 10 consecutive service games through 97 minutes of play. Monaco took a key mini-break at 4-4 in the first-set breaker, then followed with a pair of service breaks in set two.
He will meet 8th seed Janko Tipsarevic in the next round. The Serbian dismissed Dutch qualifier Igor Sijsling in the second round, 6-4, 7-6(0).
(11) Nicolas Almagro def. Albert Ramos 7-6(1), 6-7(4), 6-3
Eleventh seed Nicolas Almagro made the third round after taking out fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos in three sets. With the match split at a set apiece, Almagro secured a break at 4-3 in the decider. Almagro completed the second-round match with 13 aces and three service breaks.
He is scheduled to take on 6th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a place in the quarterfinals. Tsonga held on to dismiss countryman Julien Benneteau in the second round, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(2).
