Valencia champion David Ferrer is through to the third round at the Masters 1000 Paris, having ousted fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers in straight sets. The veteran is joined by fellow seed Janko Tipsarevic, who beat qualifier Igor Sijsling.

World No. 5 David Ferrer advanced to the round of 16 in Paris after defeating compatriot Marcel Granollers in straight sets. The 30-year-old converted five of 6 break points en route to a 6-1, 6-3 victory in 78 minutes. Granollers struggled with his second serve, winning just 8 of 24 points.
Ferrer will take on 16th seed Stanislas Wawrinka in the next round. The Swiss dismissed Argentina's Carlos Berlocq in the second round, 6-3, 6-2.

Eighth seed Janko Tipsarevic kept his London qualification bid alive, having ousted Dutch qualifier Igor Sijsling in straight sets. The Serbian number two tallied eight aces and a trio of service breaks in an hour and 48 minutes of play. Tipsarevic completed the second-round effort with 30 of 37 first-service points captured.
He is scheduled to meet 9th seed Juan Monaco for a place in the quarterfinals. The Argentine upended Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov in round two, 7-6(4), 6-2.
