    Granollers, Ramos win Paris openers Spain’s Marcel Granollers advanced to the second round by virtue of his straight-set ousting of veteran Mikhail Youzhny. He is joined in round two by fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos, who upended compatriot Feliciano Lopez in straight sets.

    Marcel Granollers def. Mikhail Youzhny 6-4, 6-3

    Spain’s Marcel Granollers is through to the second round after taking out former world No. 8 Mikhail Youzhny. The 26-year-old converted five of 8 break points through to a 6-4, 6-3 victory in 89 minutes. Granollers ended the opening-round match with 24 of 30 first-service points captured.

    He is scheduled to take on compatriot David Ferrer in the second round.

    Albert Ramos def. Feliciano Lopez 7-6(5), 6-4

    Albert Ramos reached the second round following his straight-sets victory over fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. The 24-year-old held 10 of 11 service games en route to a 7-6(5), 6-4 success in an hour and 50 minutes. The world No. 48 completed the match with 37 of 52 first-service points won.

    Ramos will face 11th seed Nicolas Almagro in round two.
