World No. 8 Juan Martin Del Potro is through to the championship final at the Swiss Indoors Basel, having ousted fellow seed Richard Gasquet on Saturday. The second seed will face either Roger Federer or Paul-Henri Mathieu for the title.
Juan Martin Del Potro advanced to the title match in Basel, following his straight-sets upending of France's Richard Gasquet. The 24-year-old Argentine converted five of 8 break points en route to a 6-2, 6-2 success in 68 minutes.
Del Potro completed the semifinal effort with eight aces and 22 of 30 first-service points captured. By virtue of Saturday's victory, the world No. 8 is through to his fifth ATP World Tour final of the season.
He awaits either five-time champion Roger Federer or veteran Paul-Henri Mathieu in Sunday's championship final.
