(2) Juan Martin Del Potro def. Kevin Anderson 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-2
World No. 8 Juan Martin Del Potro is through to the final four following his three-sets victory over Kevin Anderson. The 24-year-old held 13 of 14 service games through two hours and 23 minutes of play.
"He had the chance to win the match in the second set, but I held him back in the tiebreak," Del Potro said. "In the end I played much better. I broke his serve early in the third set and that gave me the confidence to play my game until the last point. That was the key to the match."
(3) Richard Gasquet def. (6) Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 7-6(5)
Third seed Richard Gasquet advanced to the semifinal by virtue of his straight-sets ousting of veteran Russian Mikhail Youzhny. The 26-year-old Frenchman tallied six aces and three service breaks en route to a 6-2, 7-6(5) win in one hour and 45 minutes.
"(Youzhny) is a tough opponent and he's playing very well, especially indoors, so I'm really happy to win," said Gasquet. "It's my first semifinal in Basel so I will do my best to reach the final here. I'm not too far away (from London qualification). I need to get to the finals here and play well in Bercy."
