Del Potro headlines bottom half in Basel Vienna champion Juan Martin Del Potro makes a return to competition for the final week of October, as the ATP World Tour heads to Basel, Switzerland for the Swiss Indoors. The Argentine is set to enter the 500 event as the second seed.

Juan Martin Del Potro is back on court after sealing a title-winning run at the Erste Bank Open. The 24-year-old enters into the Basel Indoors as the second seed, placed directly behind world No. 1 and five-time champion Roger Federer.

This week marks the fourth appearance in Basel for Del Potro, who finished among the final four in 2008.

Del Potro leads a challenging bottom half of the draw that includes (3) Richard Gasquet, (6) Mikhail Youzhny and (7) Florian Mayer. Additional players in the section are Bernard Tomic, Matthew Ebden, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Marco Chiudinelli, Robin Haase, Marinko Matosevic, Jarkko Nieminen, Kevin Anderson and Brian Baker.

The nearest seed to the Argentine is Mayer, who looms as a possible quarterfinal-round opponent. Further progress through the draw may set a semifinal showdown with Gasquet or Youzhny. Should Del Potro make the final, he could face top seed Roger Federer for the championship title.

Del Potro is scheduled to begin his run against Colombia’s Alejandro Falla in the opening round.

Is Delpo really planning on playing 4 weeks in a row? Seriously? He can't do that in the best of times. I don't see how he can do it coming off another wrist injury. He probably will qualify for WTF but will he have anything left for it?

That's a tough schedule for JMDP. I only hope he doesn't re-injure his wrist.
