Novak Djokovic was outstanding in his quarterfinal victory over in-form German Tommy Haas at the Shanghai Masters.
Tommy Haas did not play a bad match, but he was still outgunned by world No. 2 Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3. The Serb displayed his talent for turning defense to offense in this quarterfinal match.
Especially in the second set, Haas pounced on the ball from the baseline and carved some excellent backhands, only to see them come back time and again from his opponent.
Djokovic was vulnerable on his serve in the second frame, but his return game was so effective it didn't make much of a difference to the outcome of the match. Haas was able to secure a pair of service breaks, but he was broken four times and Djokovic rolled to a straight-set victory.
The No. 2 seed will take on Tomas Berdych in the semifinals.
