Murray breezes into Tokyo quarterfinals Defending champion Andy Murray made the final eight at the Japan Open, having made quick work of Slovakia's Lukas Lacko on Wednesday. The Scot is through to face Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarterfinals.

World No. 3 Andy Murray continued a successful title defense in Tokyo, following his straight-sets ousting of Slovakia's Lukas Lacko. The 25-year-old needed just 57 minutes to secure a sport in the quarterfinals, 6-1, 6-2. Murray completed the second round match with six aces and four of four break chances converted.

"I began the match very well, which was nice because it was long day to get on," said Murray. "I started the match almost perfect. That was important. Once I got the break in the second set, I started to play better."

Murray is scheduled to face 7th seed Stanislas Wawrinka for a place in the semifinals. The Swiss held on to defeat France's Jeremy Chardy in the second round, 7-6(1), 6-7(6), 7-5.

His thoughts on the slams and other tournaments were so interesting. Hopefully as the gorilla is off his back he can, "see clearly now."
