Tournament seed Milos Raonic is through to round two after beating veteran Radek Stepanek in straight sets. The Canadian is joined by fellow seed Kei Nishikori, who rallied to defeat compatriot Go Soeda.

World No. 15 Milos Raonic advanced to the second round following his straight-sets victory over Czech veteran Radek Stepanek early Tuesday. The 21-year-old tallied 10 aces en route to a 6-4, 6-4 win in 84 minutes of play. Raonic completed the first-round effort with 10 consecutive service games held.
He is slated to take on Serbia's Viktor Troicki in the next round. Troicki won his opening-round match over Robin Haase in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
(8) Kei Nishikori def. Go Soeda 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
Eighth seed Kei Nishikori is through to the second round, having rallied to upend compatriot Go Soeda in three sets. The 22-year-old converted seven of 19 break points through to a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory in two hours and 30 minutes. Nishikori ended the match with three of three break chances saved in set three.
He will face former world No. 5 Tommy Robredo in the second round. The veteran Spaniard dismissed Finland's Jarkko Nieminen in the first round, 6-2, 6-4.
