• Ferrer headlines Kuala Lumpur

Ferrer headlines Kuala Lumpur The ATP shifts to Asia as the field heads to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, where David Ferrer and Juan Monaco compete as the top seeds.

Spanish ironman David Ferrer has had little rest of late, with the Davis Cup hero from two weeks ago taking up the pole position at the Malaysian Open.

Ferrer shares the top half of the draw with Alexandr Dolgopolov, the No. 4 seed, and countryman Feliciano Lopez.

The bottom half of the draw is more open. Juan Monaco has snagged the No. 2 spot, but the Argentine is far more dangerous on clay than he is on hard courts. No. 3 seed Kei Nishikori, Jurgen Melzer, or Denis Istomin seem like more likely candidates to get through the bottom section.

Given Ferrer's possible fatigue, this tournament could produce a surprise winner.
