Former champion Mikhail Youzhny advanced to the final four at the St. Petersburg Open, having held on to oust 7th seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. The Russian is joined in the semifinals by fellow seed Martin Klizan, who defeated Ricardas Berankis.

Top seed Mikhail Youzhny is through to the semifinal after holding off 7th seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez on Friday. The veteran Russian converted three of eight break points en route to a 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 victory in two hours and 18 minutes. Friday’s win marked the first success for Youzhny against Garcia-Lopez.
He is scheduled to take on 3rd seed Martin Klizan for a place in the championship final.
(3) Martin Klizan def. Ricardas Berankis 6-3, 6-2
Third seed Klizan advanced to the final four following his routine victory over Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis. Klizan tallied six aces and four service breaks through to a 6-3, 6-2 win in just 67 minutes. He completed the quarterfinal effort with 23 of 29 first-service points captured.
