Argentina, Czech Republic battle for Davis Cup final Four-time finalist Argentina is set to take on visiting Czech Republic for a place in the Davis Cup final this weekend. The winner moves on to face either defending champion Spain or the United States in November.

Host nation Argentina looks to cut into a 3-1 deficit against former Davis Cup champion Czech Republic. The two nations last met in 2009, where a World Group quarterfinal went to the Czech squad, 3-2.

Argentina is through to the final four after sealing a 4-1 victory against Croatia. Team captain Martin Jaite has selected world No. 8 Juan Martin Del Potro and world No. 11 Juan Monaco for singles competition and Carlos Berlocq, alongside Eduardo Schwank, to compete in doubles.

Argentina will be without Davis Cup veteran David Nalbandian, who sustained a chest muscle injury that kept him away from the US Open.

The host nation is seeking its fifth berth in the Davis Cup final.

Czech captain Jaroslav Navratil has chosen world No. 6 Tomas Berdych and world No. 40 Radek Stepanek to lead the squad in singles. Veteran Ivo Minar is set to partner with compatriot Lukas Rosol in doubles.

The Czech Republic, a 4-1 victor against Serbian in the quarterfinals, will attempt to make the final for the first time since 2009.
