World No. 1 Roger Federer advanced to the round of 16 after ousting Spain’s Fernando Verdasco in straight sets. The top seed is joined by fellow seed Marin Cilic, who defeated 17th seed Kei Nishikori in four sets.

World No. 1 Roger Federer made the fourth round following his straight-sets victory over 25th seed Fernando Verdasco. The Swiss veteran converted three of 8 break points through to a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 win in two hours and 2 minutes. Federer completed the round of 32 with 7 aces and 30 winners.
He is slated to face either 16th seed Gilles Simon or 23rd seed Mardy Fish in the next round.
(12) Marin Cilic def. (17) Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3
Twelfth seed Marin Cilic is through to the round of 16 after upending 17th seed Kei Nishikori early Saturday. The 23-year-old tallied 46 winners and four service breaks en route to a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3 victory in three hours and 33 minutes. After dropping the third set, Cilic recovered to lead 3-1 in the fourth.
He will take on Martin Klizan for a place in the quarterfinal. Klizan upset 32nd seed Jeremy Chardy in straight sets.
