Djokovic, Del Potro into third round at US Open Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Del Potro moved into the third round with wins on Friday.

Novak Djokovic (2) def. Rogerio Dutra Silva 6-2, 6-1, 6-2

It was another routine win in New York for defending champion Novak Djokovic. The Serb breezed through his second round match against Brazil's Rogerio Dutra Silva in 99 minutes. Djokovic was not pressured on his serve at all. The world No. 2 made it through the entire match never facing a break point, while converting six on Dutra Silva's serve.

The win sends Djokovic into the third round, where he will face fiery Frenchman Julien Benneteau.

    Juan Martin Del Potro (7) def. Ryan Harrison 6-2, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2

This was mostly a good match from Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro. American Ryan Harrison couldn't gain any traction in the first 2 sets, as Del Potro over-powered him off the ground. Del Potro was broken once in the first set, but his return did all kinds of damage to the Harrison serve. The American was broken three times in the first set alone.

Del Potro continued to play well in the second set, but his level dropped dramatically in the third. The Argentine seemed to get a bit fatigued, but he was able to serve well in the fourth to dispatch Harrison without any more difficulty.

Del Potro will take on countryman Leonardo Mayer in the third round.
