    Wawrinka beats Ferrer, Nishikori next World No. 26 Stanislas Wawrinka is through to the round of 16 after upsetting fourth seed David Ferrer Wednesday evening. The Swiss will take on 14th seed Kei Nishikori in the next round.

    World No. 26 Stanislas Wawrinka advanced to the third round, upending world No. 5 David Ferrer in straight sets. The 27-year-old tallied nine aces and four service breaks through to a 6-4, 6-1 victory in 73 minutes.

    Wawrinka broke to 4-4 in the opening set, then continued his effort to lead 2-0 and 5-1 in the second. The world No. 26 completed the evening with 25 of 27 first-service points captured and two of two break points saved.

    He is scheduled to meet 14th seed Kei Nishikori for a place in the quarterfinals. Nishikori rallied to defeat wildcard James Blake in three sets.
