John Isner just slipped past Spaniard Pablo Andujar in his first match at the Rogers Cup.
It wasn't completely easy sailing for American John Isner in this second-round 7-6(5), 7-5 win over clay-courter Pablo Andujar.
Isner served up 17 aces in the two-set match, but even with his massive first serve clicking pretty well, the American was still broken in the second set.
The first set progressed without even a chance for either man to break serve. Isner, who is not known for his return game, was forced to take the first set in a tiebreaker, in which he just edged Andujar with a single mini-break lead.
The second set was sloppier from both men with a service break apiece. They traded service breaks heading into the tail-end of the set. But with the set seemingly destined for another tiebreaker, Isner secured a second service break to secure the straight-set victory.
Isner awaits the winner of Italy's Fabio Fognini or Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany in the third round.

Ricky, no 'Approach Shots' on Rogers Cup yet. I'm still waiting for it.

may do one mid-tournament (tomorrow) once i know who is playing and who isn't. Even after that, there really isn't any point in predicting this tournament.
Bottom line is whoever is the most motivated will win.

I think this is the best chance for anyone outside to win a Masters after Soderling won Paris'10

Ricky is stuck because there is no Nadal, he can't predict that he'll lose against anyone.

^^^^^^ but just wait for Cincy, Nadal's favorite event!

mostly even match aside from 2 serves. Andujar DFed on set point in the first and he DFed on break point at 5-5 in the second. Other than that (and when he gave back the break right after breaking) he was good.
